Handcent, Receiving Double Texts

Notifications for stock messages are disable. I'm not getting double texts from 2 different apps.

This problem is about the Handcent app sending me the same text twice in a row.

Here is an example of one of my conversions,

For every single conversation, every single text, I receive twice.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache... nothing seems to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Phone not rooted.

This started happening months ago after updating to ICS. Prior to that everything was fine... possible connection, maybe?

make sure your stock email settings are set to not auto retrieve ..

Do you mean auto retrieve in my stock Messaging? If so, that is disabled.

Uncheck all boxes in stock messaging. There's one for notifications

Just freeze or disable the stock text app. I have Handcent and do not have a problem all. I disabled it and have never gotten any notifications from the stock app.

My wife has that problem on her phone, but only with certain people who text her. She'll get a duplicate text with a callback number. But those same people text me and it only comes through once. I've tried everything I could think of to troubleshoot it - clear cache, uninstall & reinstall, disable stock/enable stock, etc. I've found no solution.
