Handcent sms help

I've been using the handcent sms app, and I love it, but im getting a handcent notification, and a text message one, and the tm one keeps piling up because its unopenable, how can I disable this?

Go into the stock messaging application/settings and disable notifications

I used to be able to use handcent to send a mdssage to email addresses as well as mobile phones. My carrier is verizon. Now when I try it sends a message to thw email addy but it always arrives blank. I contacted the developer but he was no help at all. Just said it should work..never heard of my problem now wont answer my emails. Any ideas? Please don't say send a. Email. I wa t to send a text to an email. The droid native app does it. Why wont handcent?

Handcent used to do that for me also - and the last time I tried it still did - but I have gone back to the stock messaging application so I am unable to test the theory of it still working
