Handcent Speech Input

When someone send me a text and it shows on the screen I have options of replying using the microphone but not any other time like when I start a text or open one. Does anyone know how I activate this on the Verizon Droid. Thanks in advance

Select the contact, Hit Menu, Select Speak....

maybe my dialect is just horrible, but getting that thing to recognize half of what i say is impossible... even if i enunciate

I can't get it to understand me that well either, but I think I've got too much noise interference, at least in the house. I think it works best in a quiet environment.

I find it's good for short replies, 3 or 4 word ones....

Nexus guys in the UK are having a fit with it...lol

I find that there needs to be no background noise for it to pick up my speech accurately.... and as Backnblack said, short replies work best.
