handscent/stock sms not showing contacts

i updaed to 2.0.1 and rooted, but the only prob i'm having is that when i go to compose a message in either handscent or the stock app, my contacts don't show up unless i type them in. i can't add any contacts and go down the list and pick who i want to send the messages too
