I installed the Droid 2.1 system update and lost my haptic feedback (the vibration upon touch) while texting and using the on-screen keyboard. I actually found out how to fix it by accident:
Go to the Home Screen.....Press Menu (the four lines button in between Back and Home)....Go to Language & Keyboard.....Select Android Keyboard(not the checkbox).....Make sure Vibrate on Keypress is checked
