Hi everyone,
I woke up this morning to find that my Screen Lock button would not function anymore. I read some online guides about doing a soft restart by simultaneously holding down the Screen Lock button and the down Volume button, but alas this did not work. I even backed up all of my data and reset the phone to factory settings, but still the button is unresponsive. It's quite frustrating as this is a crucial button for waking the phone up from sleep mode and in preventing accidental dials and keypad inputs.
If it is indeed a hardware problem, does anyone know if there is a way to put the phone to sleep and wake it up without use of the Screen Lock button? I am a US citizen currently living in the UK, so I'm not sure how feasible it would be to send the phone off for repairs. Any insight into this issue would be very much appreciated!
