My phone rebooted while plugged into the my work desktop and I got these pop-ups:

I do not know a whole lot about the OMAP processors.... but I do know last week there was a concern that the Nexus did not come with the 4460 processor... many thought it was the 4430 in the razr.

Now with that said, what am I seeing here? I found a tech article comparing the 4430 and 4440, but it makes no mention of the 4460 (assuming the time frame is correct, the 4460 probably didn't exist):

Two ARM® Cortex™-A9 MPCores™ optimized to 1.5 GHz each50% increase in overall performance; 33% reduction in webpage load time
End-to-end graphics acceleration enhancement (triangles per second, fill rate and shaders)25% increase in overall graphics performance
Support for HDMI v1.4 3D modesFull 1080p HD S3D playback to 3D TV
1080p60 video format support2x higher performance video playback
Support for up to two 12-megapixel cameras in parallelHigher stereoscopic resolution encode enabling stereo photography, which meets the same resolution previously experienced only with 2D photography
IVA 3 multimedia hardware acceleratorIndustry's highest quality video playback at low bit rates
Complete pin-to-pin hardware and software compatibilityEasy migration from the OMAP4430 processors

Thoughts? Was it ever truly confirmed that Gnex has the 4460?

Thanks

Wouldn't be surprised that they didn't rename it in the software, as they are the same chip theoretically. They're simply a "higher binned" processor. Sometimes in the field, we find that some chips end up being better than others. Most of the time they are found at the center of the wafer. If they meet requirements set by the company that results in lower voltage needed to reach their desired safe functioning speed then they will be deemed "binned", they are then set aside essentially until a company wants to do a half step from their previous processor. That's why the 4460 has a safe functioning speed of 1.5ghz, but runs at 1.2ghz. It can run 1.5ghz with the same safe voltage as the 4430 can at 1.2ghz, therefore it was renamed the 4460.

Gotcha... but I guess they just ditched the 4440 designation... and perhaps the 4460 IS the 4440, just perhaps the "highest binned" version of the 4430?

Saw that too. Yes, they changed the designation after the initial announcement and, apparently, after whql drivers had already been pushed.

Haha... quoted from the Wiki link:
