Has OTA 4.5.588 been Rooted?

I read a rumor that it has been rooted. I still haven't applied the leak from a week ago. I would rather wait for for 4.5.588 to be rooted.

it is rooted, but if the download for the rooted version has been posted, i haven't seen it yet. pretty exciting news. i like the look of the 3G icon better, also heard it is faster and more stable than the leaked version.

No I don't believe that in any way. I'm sure he has his personal phone too. I don't which he got rooted as of right now. But from what I've been reading, it was the dev phone which doesn't have the locked bootloader stopping root access. Again, I could be wrong and if I am, I apologize.

it will be a pre root process. you'll flash three files in recovery one after the other. at least that's my understanding.

Lets not confuse this as being "Rootable".

The file(s) P3 has is a way of using the latest leak/OTA WITH root access.
It does NOT mean that if someone downloads the official OTA from VZW/Moto, that that will be rootable.
Nobody was able to root the first leak of GB either.
We only get root because of what we have been able to do in the past...i.e. rootable Froyo.

Thanks for clarifying. With different news sites scraping eachother's misinformation it's hard to be sure of anything until the dust settles.
