Having difficulty setting up a vpn for Verizon hotspot service.

I just purchased the 3g hotspot service and was told I should set up a vpn for security but I have absolutely no idea how to do it. If anyone knows how to set one up please let me know. My phone is the droid 2 r2d2 running froyo 2.2

That's not going to be easily covered in this thread. Honestly, unless you're accessing data someone would pay a fair amount of money to snoop, or you're doing something illegal, you don't need to worry about it.

sounds to me like to me it just a case of mistaken terminalogy...are you wanting to name your device and give it a password so your the only one that can use it?
