having some issues with my phone...

its not a big issue but after the root to 2.2 froyo my phone sometimes acts choppy... like its laggy and most of the time phone gets really hot. is there something i can get to improve my performance ( speed / smoothness) without the over heating phone and laggyness?

okay.... so i just installed the new ud rom 5.1 and everything went nice and smooth except i lost root...can someone help asap?!
