HDMI out, loose phone signal? Google Movie issues?

Used my HDMI out today with MHL adapter. Works good except when I hook it up i loose the phone signal? I downloaded a movie from Google and I get the impression they really dont want you using the HDMI out. Wont work at all on my Transformer tablet. When I hook it up to the Rezound and try to play the movie it disconnects the wifi as well. I downloaded the movie and it still didn't want to play over HDMI. I got it to play once when I disconnected and reconnected the HDMI cable.
Anyone else experience any of these issues?

I have always found my mhl works best when the last cable connected is the mhl to phone cable.

Was your phone overheating?

Got warm, but nothing abnormal.
