HDMI Problem

I purchased a HDMI cable for my phone but when I plug it into the monitor and phone, nothing happens. I thought it automatically recognizes the phone. What am I doing wrong? Is this have to do with the Steel Droid ROM I am using. HELP! please

I heard thru the forums that some files integrated with DLNA were removed in most custom ROM's. Thus causing some issues with the cameras, as well as the HDMI port. As a dev community, we are learning as we grow. You haven't done anything wrong, we all just have to wait till new updates come out. Hopefully the issues will be addressed, and cured...
