heating - battery drain - sync issues

Here is the problem I am facing:

Sync icon come on and stays on - phone heats up - battery drains. Battery does not charge when I plug the device in.

what rom? what kernel? temp sensor? anything else custom?

without info no one can help bc we do not have esp to figure it out.
