Hi droidforums.net, I just joined! I bought an unlocked Telus Motorola Droid (have been wanting this droid for a loooong time) on Ebay, and I'm ready to start customising. I've already managed to break the onboard message application notification functionality... oops. Sooooo I plan on doing quite a bit of reading. Hopefully I'll be able to load a custom ROM on my phone eventually, but first have to figure out if the phone is rooted. So anyway, I'm a complete beginner on this, but am up for the challenge. Cheers everyone :)
 
Welcome! Good to have you with us. Open the app drawer and look for an icon with a Ninja (Super User). If you have a terminal emulator app open it and type SU. If the $ turns to a # you have root access. Here are a few links that may help:

thanks fellas!! Turns out I am rooted, but I had to dl terminal emulator.
