Well, it's safe to say I have finally converted to the Droid. I have been looking for months on several android websites and was stuck between the droid and the nexus one. my blackberry tour had done me well, but lets be honest, it gets way to boring and the apps were horrible, at least for me. my sister got the droid and after handling it in person for an extended period of time, i used my mothers upgrade to get myself the droid.

this phone is by far the best phone i have ever had, and once my overly cautious manner with the phone goes away, as i am overly cautious with all new tech products i get, i will get to rooting it and unlocking its full potential.


once you go Droid, you never go back.

Welcome! Glad you made the transition to a Droid and found this forum. Both are fun! I'm a former iPhone user and I agree that this is, by far, the best phone available.

Like you, I was cautious about rooting. However, after reading and reading many articles, I finally rooted and I'm glad I did.

If you do decide to root there are several excellent processes available and several forum member who will provide assistance.

Thats good to hear, because I am avid apple person, so I have always coveted the iPhone not to mention that everyone and their mom that i know has one, but it seems i made the smart decision in choosing the droid.

Once I my babying phase is over with the phone, I will be right on the rooting process, I have been to several sites and watched several videos, but am still too afraid to root lol.

i remember trying to download a leaked 5.0 OS on my tour, and ended up with a bricked one lol. Not fun times, so i'll take my time with this one.

Wait until you get the hang of the Droid and if you root ALL of your friends will drool

No need to be sorry! And i know all about being tired when i type...or text. Trying to hold the phone up with your eyes half open spells bad news for your face and chin.
