Just switched from blackberry tour to droid 2 global. Like it so far, but a few things are bothering me..

What is this camera roll? How do i create new folders for my pics, and where are the pics stored? I have a sdcard and downloaded astro.. i cant find the folder for phone storage..

Theres a folder in my gallery which says all photos.. and theres like 200+ icons in it? They dont look like they are from any applications i use. Can they be deleted?

I feel like this whole media management thing is way more confusing than it needs to be. Why not simply photos, videos, music folders?

Hey there,

I had to download esfilexplorer out of the market... it's MUCH easier to navagate than astro. Pics from camera are stored in dcim>camera and any other folder in dcim. The down side to esfilexplorer is it doesn't show thumbnail pics.

you can create as many folders as you like to store pics - i do. it's just that any pics taken by your Droid will be stored in the DCIM folder, at least until you move them to a different folder.

Usually those icons are raw image files, if you long press > select as "images" and view with a viewer. You may find some of those photos that you thought where long deleted are being stored there. If you begin to experience photo problems with deleted images coming back you may look to delete them from this folder.

This has been true for my Moto Droid 1, use as applicable.dancedroid
