help clockworkmod recovery

does anyone know what type of clockworkmod recovery makes the backups into Disc Image Files?
i have seen my other back ups and they all seem to be rar files but not my stock one that was my first one i backed up and well now i cant restore without the correct clockworkmod

hmmm, how's about using the same version of bootstrapper from which you created the backups?
