help installing themes etc.

im new to the droid scene and i was wondering how to install a theme.i looked around but im still clueless to the whole ram or rom thing and where to install.
please it would be much apreciated if someone could help me

It all depends on which ROM you are running. I'm not too sure that there are any themes for the stock Froyo (2.2) rom that the X came with. Most themes are for custom roms.
