Help! my friend may have bricked his d2

I have a droid og, so I generally have no problem with roms, kernels, etc. However, my friend has a d2, and had apex 1.4.0 on his droid. He's had it for appoximately 4-5 months, but today, he turned it off for some reason. When he turned it on, the processing system forceclosed. He reboot a few times. Finally, we decided to try wiping the data. When we reboot, after the moto logo it was simply a blank screen. Something now seemed very odd. I realized something; koush's bootstrap had somehow uninstalled itself: I had wiped the data on the stock recovery. Where did clockworkmod go? I don't know what to do. I pulled the battery, but I kind of knew this wouldn't help. Please help me!

Sbf is probably the way to go this has happened to me and that's what I did and just start over
