Help! Text msg alert stopped working.

My text msg alert stopped working after a recent upgrade. I get sound when the phone rings. I get vibrate when there's a text, but I don't get sound on a text anymore. I tried rebooting, and I tried switching to the "handcent" app, but I still can't get sound on a text msg. Help please!
