You can make 2 CD's to root.

The first CD, use the 4.5.605 sbf for the phone that isn't Gingerbread. It also has the root method built in.

The second CD is for the 2.3.4 phones, and you need to put the .604 file on it. It also has a root method built in.

On the phone that is going to be flashed to .605 (the 2.2 version phone), you can freeze or delete the updater.apk so it won't update to 2.3.4.
