Help with back up

I've tried backing up my phone with rom manager but everytime I try it just restarts with out doing anything

I think U have to get Droid 2 bootstrapper from the market. I think I reaad that ROM manager does not work well on D2.

Yes you need to grab the bootstrapper in order to get in to cm recovery. Rm is useless without it.
