home cat5 wiring help

Ive got my router 50ft away from my Wireless n router but my ps3 doesnt seem to be n compatable. My mediacom connection is 20mbps. The ps3 glitches when i try to play 2 players online with black ops becuase im only on g speeds. So my solution is to just run an ethernet chord across the attic. So far im researching cables and such but i need a knowledgeable person with this stuff.
Should i buy a 75' cat 5 or cat 6?
100 ft. 23-Gauge Category 6 Riser Cable - 56918943 at The Home Depot

Shop IDEAL 24-Gauge 4-Pair CAT 5E Cable at Lowes.com
Also im going to have to get some connectors on the end of the cables but im not sure if cat 6 cables need a special connector or if i can use the same old end as the cat 5 cables? Or does the cat 6 just connect straight to the wall plate? does the wallplate have to be made for ct 6 or can it just be the same?

Same connectors.

Cat6 is meant for GB speeds.

Need to wire them correctly for TIA-568B.

Yes. Basically. That would only be for internal network speed.
