Hi everyone. I'm a big on watching movies on my device but I have not been able to find an app (THAT ACTUALLY WORKS)to stream my avi films straight from my network drive over wifi. Arc media player worked wonders on my razr but no longer works with ics.
Any one know of any good apps?

its not hard as long as your familiar forwarding ports in you modem/router for external use. internal use is easy as following instructions they provide.

Just to be clear your saying I can stream from network drive right to phone with VLC correct? No pc

Umm no the vlc app needs the vlc program on your PC installed as well for it to work. You can point the program to your NAS box or dlna service as well.

The files (movies) on the PC still need to be compatible to the phone. Atleast that's how it worked on my d1..
vlc transcoded avi to d1 format then streamed from pc to device. Hence the need for a descent powered PC...
I am waiting for wmediaserver app...

posted tomorrow using the space time continuum app on my D1...

not quite vlc will convert while streaming to make it work. I streamed raw dvd files the .vob ones and it was beautiful. Now it recommended to has like a dual core or better with like 4 or more gigs of ram. but heck it can do it fine.
