Hi guys and gals, I'm a total rookie at this, I just purchased the Droid Incredible and I'm trying to getthe most of this piece of equipment, I would like to know if there's a way to block the phone numbers and part of the messages that pop up on the home screen when you get a text message , phone call etc. I thank you in advance for your friendly advise.

Welcome! Good to have you. Open your text app, tap, menu, tap settings, tap notification, uncheck the popup.
