Home Screen Icons in Froyo

My Home screen icons in Froyo take forever to load sometimes when switching from portrait to landscape (sliding out the keyboard) and back. It's not HORRIBLE, just kind of annoying, and the phone never did this with 2.1.

Anyone else seeing this?

I'm running the 1ghz kernel and the first build of Froyo we got--not the second one which magically empties my folders.:icon_eek:

There's a few mentions of this in other threads.

I've started using LauncherPro because of the same issues. I would prefer to use the native Launcher, I like the 3D interface, but LauncherPro does have advantages, including NOT lagging, having a 4 app dock (with customizable icons), and it can run in upside-down-landscape mode! (Turn the phone so it says Motorola on the right)
