Horrible "freeze" issues with DROID X Gallery app

Any of you find a good solution/alternative to the OEM gallery app for viewing pictures/videos on the DROID X?

I traded my D2 for the DX this Saturday, and all is well except for viewing photos. The gallery app fails horrendously, and will "freeze" the phone, necessitating a battery pull.

I would reseat the SD card or look into testing another 1 in the DX.
