HotSpot Acquiring address

Good Day All,

New user with a Droid X of a few weeks. Need to connect my notebook PC (XP) to internet when traveling. Setup the Mobile Hot Spot on the Driod and seems to go fine. On the Driod I see the connection of hte notebook address just fine.

When connect the notebook get past password, and it stops on Acquiring Network Address for a few minutes, then seems to time out, and tries again and again. I can connect the XP notebook to other wifi router in home, but never past Acquiring Network Address on the Droid.

Need this option for when traveling away from home.

Did I miss something? anything else I should need to do on the Driod?

Thanks so much for any help.

Sounds like you didn't pay for the 3G Mobile Hotspot feature through Verizon... Or you didn't hack it to work anyway. Either way, have you tried rooting and installing Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether or Wireless Tether for Root Users?
