hotspot caused tablet crash

Hey all,
I have a moto razr hd maxx and a samsung galaxy note 10.1. Last night i was using the mobile hotspot feature (not foxfi), and i believe it caused my samsung to crash. My screen on the samsung went black and the power button did not turn the scren back on. I ended up having to push the power and volume down button at the same time to do the reset on the device. When it came back on there was a screen with the android guy in the center of the screen and under it "Downloading... do not turn off target." When the android OS finally started operating i noticed that the device had the wrong time and a lot of my information seemed like it hadnt been synced.

Ive had problems with hotspotting my phone to my laptop before but never my tablet and now i am worried to do it again. Anyone know what happened or how i can prevent it from happening again?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

There's no way creating a hotspot on your phone, caused your tablet to crash. That screen on the tab usually comes up when installing a software update. Perhaps while connected to the hotspot, the tab downloaded an update.

^^^Like they said......your phone was doing nothing but providing a connection.......just so happens it was a internet connection at the same time your tablet updated itself. It likely started downloading the firmware in the background while you were using it for something else. Installation then took place and your tablet reset itself. 89% sure that is what happened.

Just thought I'd post a pic of the screen to confirm. Also since this, all of my calendar events have been offset by 5 hours (I had events in my calendar from 10am to 4pm and now they show up from 5am to 11am). What gives?

Ya that looks like a system update. Since Calendar is a system app, sometimes updates screw up some system settings. Go into settings/time and date and ensure its the correct time, then go to settings/accounts/Google and resync.
