Before the update to jb I could use my phone as a hotspot. Yes my laptop. Now cannot use as a hotspot. Do I need to do something with the app to get it to work?

For usb or Bluetooth tether no.. for hotspot you either have to pay Verizon. Or root and do sql hack.. Or non-rooted use foxfi app free on google play

They took the ability to tether completely away on JB without a subscription.
You can use WiFi tether or barnacle, which or both free to USB tether without a subscription.
Wireless tether for a WiFi or USB connection if you prefer that.
All require root.

Thanks. It's a shame that companies like Verizon are pushing our smartphone capabilities back, unless we feed their greed.
