How can I control a S4 remotely?

Want to send a S4 to my dad in Texas as a gift, but u konw he is a newbie to Android... Can I control his phone remotely like install some apps?

I've been curious about this sort of thing for a while myself, but I've never stumbled across anything that worked like that. There are plenty of Remote Desktop and similar apps that you can use your phone to control a computer, but I've yet to see something that works the other way around.

Teamviewer "support" works on the S4. There is even a Samsung specific version that I have used to control my sister's S5.

All your Dad needs to do is double tap the app and read off the number and you can access his phone as if you were there.

Tks! I will try Teamviewer! And, someone suggested me to try AirDroid, have you heard of this app?

I use Airdroid but for local control, Teamviewer for remote control.

I use teamviewer to control my computer on phone
and airdroid to control the phone on computer

It's actually possible to use Teamviewer to control the phone too.
