how can i get my nexus to announce the number calling me?

is there a way to get my nexus to announce who is calling me? I know I won't want it done all of the time but when I am expecting a call I don't want to run to the phone to find out it is a creditor.

Do a search for "Talking Caller ID" in the app store. They have a free and a paid version. I don't know how well it works because I never used it but it looks like it will do the job.

I've been on the wrong end of a few plant closings and I know what it's like to struggle. I've had people calling me before but they always got their money even if it was late so I'm not going to judge because I don't know what his situation is.

This may sound a little strange but try this. Try settings->Language and input->see if Driving mode is on. If not, switch it to on. I found this while working on the s3 when a customer wanted the phone to stop announcing the call and text message.

that would be why you shouldn't overextend your credit, and prepare for such things financially ;)

I'm not going to go into details about my own life but I know sometimes you can't. That's why I won't judge people.

Think this thread ran its course....

OP got his answer, no need to debate what he or others are doing with their financial situations...

edit: OP did you try the app?

Thanks Dezy & LoudRam for helping.

@wvdroidman, Did you get it figured out?

Tapped from a Galaxy Nexus using Xparent ICS

yes. Found two apps but both sound the same just one is louder.

Is there an app that announces who emails and texts are from? Like if a new email came from john doe it would say "you have mail from john doe."
or
"you dad send you a text"
