How do android software updates work?

I am intimately familiar with how to get the latest OS updates on Blackberry. They had "leaked" OS versions all the time.

How does it work for android? For example, my new Pro has v2.2 but isn't 2.3 out now? Do you just wait for something to pop up on your phone?

I wish 2.3 was leaked... its not yet. We have to wait for Google to release the update then The phone company has to apply the update to the phone. Motorola for me has to put it on the droid.

Short answer yes its a waiting game. Long answer there will probably be a leaked version but it's too early to tell if/when. Just keep your eyes open.
