how do I get apps into trash?

Some applications you can't delete unless you are rooted and have Super permissions. What are you trying to delete?

I am trying to delete or even move Messaging.

I do not text on my phone ever so I don't want it on my front page. Thanks for your reply

waiting for can to turn red before letting go? I've deleted messaging with no issues few minutes ago.

Yes, all you do is long press on it and then drag it down to the trash can and once it turns red let it go.
