How do I install an .apk someone emailed to me?

I don't remember how to do this. I have a rooted Droid if that matters. What folder do I put the .apk file in and how do I install it?

if it is an actual APK then go into your settings, applications, and check the box next to "Unknown sources" then go back to your APK and select it. It should have an install option then.

Folder doesn't matter. You will need a file manager such as astro. But if you are rooted already I'm assuming you have root explorer

Thanks guys. Actually I forwarded it to my gmail address and checked it on my phone and it had an install button right next to the attachment! That was easier than going through all the USB hassle!
