How do I save and lock text messages on the verizon motorola droid 2?

I have a verizon droid 2 the motorola and I just need to know how do I save and lock in text messages.

what do you mean by lock in text messages?

you can download SMSbackup and that saves all your text messages in a .xml folder.

not able to lock messages

what i'm referring to is how most phones normally have and option for you to "lock" or store a message, to prevent accidental deletion. how do i do this.
