How Do I setup my 3g Hotspot?

Sorry for the obvious duplicate question, but the search was not very helpful.

I am rooted and running DarkSlide 4.1, which comes with the 3G Hotspot app and functionality included.

When I start the service, and provide my laptop with the password it connects and takes me to the verizon/motorola mobile broadband connect service page.

What am I doing wrong?
