How do I temporarily suspend receiving Emails

I have my incredible set up to receive my comcast account emails but I can't figure out how to temprorily stop receiving them without deleting the comcast account. Is there a way to sign on and off?

Which app are you using? I'm using k9 and there is an app to stop it from checking. It is a one click thing.

Go into the settings and have the email check frequency to be manual should work for you.
