How do i turn off "Emergency Alerts?"

Lately I have been getting a lot of "emergency alerts." Usually they are flash flood warnings (I live hours from the nearest rain, and nowhere near any flood threats). These warnings are very annoying because they play a siren sound even if my phone's volume is muted and they do not mute when i hit the volume button like the ringer does. Also, I really don't need to get any emergency warnings from my cell phone, i have survived plenty long without them, i'm pretty sure i'll do just fine.

how do i turn that feature off??

Go to stock messaging app, settings, emergency alerts, uncheck what you don't want. Presidential alerts can't be unchecked without rooting.
I got one for a tornado warning earlier in the week...... after the nws text I got from Accuweather had expired!
