How do I...

Some websites have a link, but for ones that don't, I use dolphin browser HD. Menu>more>settings>dolphin settings>user agent>desktop
And there you go! Don't forget to switch it back when you're done!

Without switching to ICS, I do not know of a way. Even in ICS, you can only do it for the site that you are on. Hopefully Google will fix this with Chrome.

I thought there used to be something you typed in the browser "about:?"

Suuuuuper easy to switch back n forth in dolphin! I'm aware, but not familiar, with the about:whatever method...
Plus dolphin is a better browser anyway!

Didn't know dolphin had this option.

Been using it for over a year, love the browser!

BroidDrionic has the answer you want. Dolphin Browser HD is the way to go. It has a Desktop toggle.

The "about:" type commands you are referring to are used in desktop browsers and vary from browser to browser. For example, here's a list of Chrome's about: options.

But for what you want, Dolphin Browser HD is the best. It also has a bunch of other cool plugins you might enjoy. :happy3:

I used Dolphin Browser back when I had my original droid but with all of it's extra features, it slowed that phone down so much, that I switched to Boat Browser... it worked much faster for the og droid. Boat Browser at that time was very similar to Dolphin and I am not sure how different the two may be now but I know I have never felt that Boat Borwser was lacking in what I needed to do. The one feature I do like about Boat Browser is that in settings, I can set all websites to load in desktop mode (under "settings" the "set user agent"). I prefer all my websites to load as if I was on the desktop/laptop, so I never change it. I am curious why BroidDrionic recommends to be sure to switch back to android mode after using desktop mode. Is that only if you prefer webpages to load in android mode or are there other reasons?
