How Do We Get Os Updates?

New Droid user here. I've searched the forum but I really don't know what I'm searching for. Basically, I'm wondering IF we get OS updates and if so, how do we find out about it?

I'm running 2.01 and heard that 2.1 is due out this month. Just want to be sure to get it when it become available.

Either automatically via a popup, or you can go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates to see if there are any updates available.
