How do you change the white background in Messaging/dialer??

I finally replaced my Blaze with an S5. For the most part I like it, except for two things: the 'recent' button replacing 'settings'... and the white background in Messaging. I looked around and learned that you can get a third-party dialer that's black, but I couldn't find any solutions to the white background in Messaging, which I find both very bland and hard on the eyes. Is there some kind of hidden setting for this, or an app I can install to fix it?

Welcome to the Forum @lithrawind. Check the S5 messaging settings and see if it has a setting for Dark. If not, you may want to try goSms or handcent which allows color changes.
