How do you change the widgets/bar at bottom of screen?

I am on Liberty GB V 0.8 with the Gingercomb Juiced theme. My shortcut widgets at the bottom of the screen are the basic gray/transparent looking ones with no visible bar around them.

I have seen many screen shots where people have colored/modded widgets there and also have unique looking bars housing these widgets. What is the best way to customize these widgets?

You can use either ADW Launcher Ex or LauncherPro Plus. They have options to allow you to change the entire look of your Dock. Also allows you to easily change icons, short-cuts, custom application, etc.

There are other Home Launchers but those are the 2 I've liked with the exception of GoLauncher (not enough customization but rather known for their sleekness and speed).

You can find these Launchers on the Market. ADW Launcher Ex cost money but they have a free version. LauncherPro Plus also cost money and also has a free version. Some features in both (the free version) are limited so when you buy one or both or whatever, you'll be given full access to the entire extra features.

Here's a great link to over 600 sets of icons you can choose... (there are many other sites that have custom icon but this one is a mega collection)

As for custom dock appearances... You can find a few at this link...

The dock section is this one at that site....

Now I'm aware there are several other sites with cool App Drawer icons and cool Dock appearances but since I don't really customize the dock appearance but just the icons itself, I wouldn't know where else there may be a lot more dock bars. Maybe someone can link you to a massive collection of dock bars shortly.

Hope this will be enough to get you started.

You're welcome.

If you would like to get into the more expensive Home Launcher, you can check out SPB Shell. You can find that in the Market as well.

You can also make your own home docks, icons and other stuff if you have Photoshop program. If not you can use Gimp, which is almost identical to Photoshop but for free.

Any other questions, just shoot them here.

I downloaded a zip pack of custom docks but am not quite sure where to put them to get them to show up in the gallery? I can't find a 'gallery folder'

Ok, what I do to keep things neat, clean and in order is make a folder on the root of your SD Card. Name it something like Custom Docks and Icons. Whatever you want to name it so you know what the folder contains.

Next, use Winrar or 7-zip, on your PC, open up the zip file on either one of those programs. You will see a bunch of png images. Select all of them and move them to that folder you created on the root of your SD Card. The gallery should then pick it up. The gallery cannot pick up a file that is in ZIP format because it isn't a supported format. So you need to unzip these files, grab all the images in them, move them into that new folder. Then you can start customizing your dock and icons.

Docks will have to be changed out through the LauncherPro Plus settings or ADW EX settings. Icons can be changed or replaced by long-clicking one of the icons on the dock bar.
