If I want to clean up my Gmail or my regular email (yahoo) account how do I select all and delete? I could only figure out how to delete one at a time.
Unfortunately, you can't. It's easier to log into your email account on a computer and delete them if you have a bunch. I was really hoping the most recent update to the OS would add this feature because it seems to obvious to most of us.
as was said above
do it on the computer
FAR EASIER
your droid's relationship with gmail is for convenience, essentially
all the real "work" will be done while online at your pac/mac/laptop

My issue is that when you delete email from the Droid it doesn't delete from the gmail account online and a few mins later thay are back on the phone. So you actually have to delete everything twice. Once from the phone then from the server. Does anyone know how to fix that?
1) Open gmail on your PC.
2) Select "All" Messages
3) When you do, a text link appears. In my case, "Select all 4166 conversations in Inbox".
4) (perform action) Delete / Mark as Read / Archive / Etc
5) Confirm the prompts.

I just archived all my email the way I listed above. Then it showed 0 emails in the inbox on the Droid. From then on, I can select the checkbox next to each email message on the Droid and click Delete. Not the ideal solution, but it worked for me...
so how retarded is this... if in email and you select 1 or more emails (with a check) then hit menu, there is a "Deselect all" option. but noooooo, no "Select all"
You all talk about gmail. I use mine for business and I receive 500 emails per day. I cannot go to my exchange server and delete them from there and find that they are gone on my droid.
I am looking for a way to delete all with one stroke.
