How do you use your Droid?

Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting a droid but I'm not sure how useful it would be to me (I don't travel out of state all that much). I was hoping I could get a few responses from some of you as to how you are using your Droid on a daily basis. Hopefully this will generate enough responses for me to get a good idea on what I can use this device for (aside from obvious reasons).

With all sorts of varied apps you can do a lot a LOT of things lol

Like possibly use the LED for a flashlight, or use google maps/ navigation for the GPS while driving (turn by turn navigation)
Or be the guy with the coolest phone ever made, or a lot of addicting games if you're into that. I think it would help if you tell more about yourself and what you would like out of it too, then we might be able to say "there is an app for that"

im in no way a droid expert..havent rooted or anything just new launcher and other various apps

the possibilities are endless on this phone, im happy with what i have now and im not even close to unlocking its full potentialdancedroid

get it ..it will be worth it no matter what kinda person you are

I use it as a computer, a phone, play games, take and send pictures, check sports, text with google voice, look at porn, use GPS, maps, facebook, shop at e-bay, the list will go forever.

If I had a choice, I'd stay with the regular Droid.

6 months old and my phone (moto-droid) can run 2.2 android, the latest version. That speaks volumes to me about this phone considering how many android phones out there have not gotten an upgrade to the OS in a while and may never get an update. The 3rd official moto-droid android release is due out shortly.

It sits in the dock and serves as my alarm clock, getting me up each morning. (stock app)

It lets me take and send phone calls (stock app)

It lets me take great videos, and some great still pics, not so good action pics (stock apps)

I passed it to the backseat and let the kids watch a movie (meridian)

I glance at the Beautiful Widgets app at the weather, and I can click on 3 different areas of that widget to get more details weather, set the alarm or check my calendar. (Beautiful Widgets and The Weather Channel)

My work has alerts that come to my phone via text messages. I check the status of various servers from my phone and am notified when something isn't right. (handcent)

I used an app to step outside, glance skyward, and within 2 minutes there went the International Space Station with the shuttle Atlantis docked to it...3-4 minutes I watched as it crawled across the sky. (iridium flare forecast)

In the car I use it as a GPS. (stock app)

Whenever I'm stuck in a waiting room, at motor vehicle, or waiting to pick someone up in the car (and parked) I will read books on the phone. (Aldiko)

I had to do some work at home, and the power was out. My phone let me wirelesly tether my laptop and 45 minutes later I was done with a laptop battery at 50% charged and a phone at 80% charged. (wifi tether for root users)

I've used it as a remote to control VLC, a video player program on my PC. (vlc remote)

It tracked my progress, via bike, around a reservoir, telling me I traveled 3.6 miles in 36 minutes, that I paused for 10 minutes, my max speed was 24 mph. It also gave my highest/lowest elevation and avg speed then transferred the entire output to Google's mymaps and Googledocs spreadsheet. (my tracks)

Leveled a crooked painting at a friends house. (level)

Oh, and once when I held a nail near it, it told me the nail was made of metal. (metal detector)

Work provides no texting, so with google voice I can send and receive text messages to my family.

Eventually I will buy and app to work with spreadsheets. I can already review pdf's sent from work a whole lot easier on this phone than the 1.6" winmo phone I moved from.

Using Alice (free app) I can keep track of where my favorite artists are playing around me.

If you drink, Bartender (free app) can help you mix up some new drinks for the ladies!

Since the phone integrates with my google calendar, I put my appointments right into the phone at the dentist or doctor and I get email reminders so I don't forget. I can check my calender or my wife can from her laptop in real time when she schedules me for some kid functions, etc..

With gdocs I can sync my google docs text documents right to my phone. I can be standing in the store and my wife could add to my shopping list. After I hit sync, I have the new document in a few seconds with the new items.

I keep a list of prices of various items from different stores so I know when a I see a good deal.

Someday Bank of America's app will work in my state too so I can have native app support for all bank work.

My favorite tech websites have apps so I can keep up on way more information than most people even know about.

Labrynth keeps the kids entertained in the back seat. There are like 10,000 levels in the paid version.

Or how about the USB feature. The Droid serves as a flash drive. You can load your music and video right to the SD card without any desktop software needed, ie no iTunes.
