How do yu "close" the browser?

I use my phone to look into different accounts through the browser. When I'm done I just want to close out of the webpage. I have tried everything I can think of but hitting the back button and waiting for the pages to reload is the only way I can figure out how to get out. If I just hit the home but then when I open up the browser again the page I was on is still there. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

You will have to download a task killer to kill the browser. There are a few free ones on the market, but I prefer Advanced Task Manager (not Advanced Task Killer). It is in the top 5 paid apps on the Market.

I use the paid version of ATK. It has a widget that will kill everything including browser cache. I need this because the droid does porn...so you know where I am at on a daily basis....

Some people have reported issues with Advanced Task Killer, so I would do some reading before going with that one.

Also, the statement above made me throw up in my mouth a little. Get a girlfriend man.

just use the back button and dont worry about it, many posts on this here (you dont have a BlackBerry anymore :)

sorry, you should be able to hit your back (sideways U) button till you get back to your honme page and once you are on your honme page the next hit will take you out. If you have more than one tab open close all the additional tabs then back out. you dont really close it,
No memory OCD on droid, get rid of the task killer apps if you want more memory... Ha1

I highly recommend you do not download Advanced Task Killer. Mods say it causes problems, I believe them.

To remove the page you were viewing, click the Menu button then pick Windows. You'll see a list of all open pages. Click the X next to each. When you close them all, it will automatically take you back to the Google home page.
