How does one assign ringtones that are located on the SD card??

I have several ringtones on my sd card. When I try to assign them to certain callers, I don't get a list of those songs. I just get a list of the stock ringtones that came with my Galaxy phone. How do I get to the ringtones on the sd card to assign them to callers? This should be simple, but for some reason, I just can't figure it out......

Basically any app that associates with ringtones or notifications will let you choose files from your SD card to set as a ringtone, there are a ton of them out there.

They need to be in a directory called ringtones for them to show up in the list.
