i see reference to Direct Dial in forums but don't see how to do on my Razr (i'm new to Droid btw so could be rookie mistake). i want to add a contact to my home screen so i can litterally hit the icon and have it dial the # - 1 button push similar to one button dialing i had on my BB.

Help!

Long press on the home screen -> shortcut->direct dial....although I don't have a Razr..should be the same for Mot droid phones

It is a little different on the RAZR. You have to make the person a favorite in your contacts (you do that by selecting the person in your contacts and then clicking the little star button in the top right corner of the screen).

Then, go to the portion of the home screen where you want the shortcut.. Long press (i.e. touch the screen and leave your finger on it). Select Widgets. Scroll through the list and select Favorite Contacts. This will place a shortcut to your favorite people. Unfortunately, if you have 2-3 people selected as favorites all of them will appear on the home screen. If there is a way to do a single person I have missed it.

I actual know the answer to this one. Long push on a screen. Select Shortcut, Select App Actions, select Direct dial or direct message.

Good job, athompson99! And on your first post to the forum no less!!!DancingNexus

Yep, and there's that App Actions I mentioned before coming to the rescue. We're not far from being able to have the entire computer actually do everything completely automated.
