How to add new Ring tones

How to i add new ringtones that i have in a folder. i remember on past droid devices i made a folder on my sd card called ringtones and they would show up on the device. can anyone tell me how its done on ics?

Essentially the same way. I have a mac so I had to download "android file transfer," but once I did that when I plug in my GNex using the Micro USB cable I can drag and drop songs to the pre-made ringtones folder. I am not sure the android file transfer program is required on PC. Oddly enough you need to make sure your screen is unlocked to drag/drop... again not sure on the PC side.

Heads up, there is a 'ringtones' AND 'notifications' folder. So if you want the old 'Droid' notification every time you get a text, email, etc you will want to drop that into the notifications folder.
