How to delete Icons??

OK, I read many posts and found out how to delete icons from any of my 3 main screens (drag icon to trash). THAT works fine, but when I try to do that same thing within the slide-up homescreen menu it shows the trashcan, but doesn't delete it!!!

Any ideas??

Thanks all...

I may be wrong but I think you need to go to your settings, manage apps, then select the app you want to remove.

Let me know if this is what you are wanting to do.

Have you restarted your phone? Duplicates shouldn't be showing up in your menu.

OK, I think I figured this out - please correct me if I'm wrong:

The icons in the slide-up menu, which I believe is called the "Applications Menu" are a list of ALL the apps I have installed. Therefore I CANNOT delete any of those icons. (not the apps, just the icons).

But I CAN delete any icons that were already on the homepage, or that I have dragged to the homepage.

@dezymond - There were actually no duplicates on the home screen. I needed to clarify above which menu was which!!
